The Red Eagles are back to the winning track in the league with a 2-1 win over Pharco on Tuesday at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria.
After a draw on Friday against Future FC, our players secured the victory today to reach 22 points.
Mohamed Sherif came off the bench to score the winning goal in the dying seconds of the match with a superb header.
First Half
There were some half chances in the opening minutes of the game as our players put pressure on the home team's defense to take an early lead.
The first real test of Pharco defense came after 20 minutes as Mohamed Magdy Afsha sent a trademark pass to Bruno Savio but his shot was stopped by Pharco keeper.
Three minutes later, Afsha had a chance to break the deadlock but his shot went wide.
Ahmed Abdelkader almost scored as his shot was cleared over the line by Pharco defender Abdullah Bakry.
On 30 minutes, we got our deserved lead as Ali Maaloul sent a long pass to Abdelkader who received the ball and sent a brilliant angled shot that found the back of the net.
We did not have much time to celebrate as the home levelled the score after six minutes with a powerful shot from Ahmed Sherif.
We had a chance to go to half time with a 2-1 lead but Bruno Savio's goal was ruled offside.
The second half started with our players controlling the midfield and trying to find a way through a disciplined Pharco formation.
After 15 minutes, Karim Fouad thumped a powerful shot but went over the bar.
We couldn't create many chances so Marcel Koller made three changes as Hossam Hassan, Mohamed Sherif and Hussein El Shahat joined the game.
Hossam was so close from scoring as his header met a brilliant cross from Maaloul but Pharco goalkeepe stopped it with a stunning save.
The efforts of our team paid off in the last minute of the added time as Mohamed Sherif scored from inside the box with a header to secure a very important win for the Red Eagles.
